SMOKING, DRUG, ALCOHOL AND CONTRABAND POLICY
Jalmood National management, in support of maintaining Health and Safety of Employees, Contractors and Communities, and in line with Royal Oman Police Regulations, shall ensure strict disciplinary action including termination of employment for the following cases:
- Smoking inside camp area, Porta cabins, equipment and operating areas.
- Employees failing to inform company of any personal use of medication or prescribed drugs that have potentially impairing side effects on work activity.
- Use, possession, distribution, purchase or sale of any illegal drugs or other controlled substances by any person while on company premises, engaged in company business or while operating company equipment.
- Use or being under the influence of any illegal drug or other controlled substance or alcohol which causes or contributes to unacceptable job performance or unusual job behavior while on company premises engaged in company business or while operating company equipment.
- Use possession, transportation, or sale of explosives, unauthorized flammable materials, firearms, or other weapons while on company premises, engaged in company business or while operating company equipment.
Management as appropriate may arrange for rehabilitation assistance in the form of counseling, programme or professional treatment.
HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY POLICY
It is the Policy of JALMOOD NATIONAL that its operations are executed at all times in such such a manner as to ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of all its employees and all persons affected by its operations including Company, Sub-Contractors and the General Public. JALMOOD NATIONAL is also committed to all aspects of environmental conservation.
JALMOOD NATIONAL shall strive to maintain high safety standards through the promotion of incident prevention by the use of safety Training, encouraging interest and awareness in safety and by developing personal responsibility for health and safety in the work place. JALMOOD NATIONAL accepts that Safety responsibility rests with the line management and that all levels of staff share in this responsibility.
JALMOOD NATIONAL also recognizes that Health, Safety and the Protection of the Environment are an integral part of its operations, and that they are held in equal importance to other business objectives.
JALMOOD NATIONAL shall ensure the maintenance and safe operation of all plant and equipments.
JALMOOD NATIONAL shall comply fully with all laws and statues of the Sultanate of Oman and specific contract requirements with regard to H.E.S.
HEALTH, ENVIRONMENTAL AND SAFETY PROTECTION POLICY STATEMENT
Jalmood shall conduct its activities in manner which:
- Protects the health and safety of its employees and all others that may be affected by its activities.
- Protects the environment, encourages recycling minimizes waste and pollution and seeks to reduce the consumption of unsustainable natural resources
To achieve this JALMOOD shall
- Deliver compliance with the applicable laws, decrees, and statues of the sultanate of Oman and respect its citizens culture and customers
- Deliver compliance with the HSE regulations standards and procedures that are defined within the contracts and the integral conditions.
- Where appropriate seek to apply higher standards in order to achieve parity with best practice developments within the industry.
JALMOOD will pursue the objectives and spirit of this policy through:
- Visible and proactive management commitment.
- Commitment, involvement and cooperation of all employees and subcontractors
- Effective training motivation and communication programmes.
- The maintenance of realistic measurable and progressive HSE targets and objectives.
In Pursuing the objectives and spirit of this policy JALMOOD shall be guided by the following corporate beliefs.
- That success in the management of Health Safety and Environmental protection is prime business objective that is equally as important as other prime business objectives
- That accidents incidents injuries and environmental disturbance are unacceptable and preventable
- That everyone shares the responsibility for their own health and safety and the health and safety of their colleagues at work.
- That health, safety and environment protection are line management responsibilities
- That all necessary HSE arrangements must be in place, before work is started, and that work shall be stopped if the HSE arrangements cannot be maintained.
